About the directory
What this directory is
The directory was prepared by the analytical department of Patronum Foundation as part of the UNDP project “Support for Inclusive Recovery to Ensure the Resilience and Security of People in Ukraine”.
This directory is not an exhaustive register. It includes organisations that responded to a public request, were mentioned in replies from Ukrainian ministries, or were found by a blind analyst who checked that the organisations in the directory are accessible.
All organisations are divided into four categories:
- providers of specialised rehabilitation services — organisations that provide rehabilitation with professional trainers, specialised courses or comprehensive training in the necessary skills. This also includes organisations that have the resources to provide such services and plan to do so in the future.
- general medical facilities with specialised rehabilitation services — multidisciplinary facilities where people can receive both specialised rehabilitation and treatment for the main injury or a related condition.
- informal rehabilitation groups — initiatives where support is given by people without specialised training, on a peer-to-peer basis, through consultations, basic training and mutual support.
- providers of related specialised services — organisations that do not provide rehabilitation but offer additional support: information, humanitarian aid, legal help and advice.
How to use the directory
- On the Directory page, choose your region in the “Region” field — the list of organisations updates straight away. If there are few or no organisations in your region, look at neighbouring regions.
- Below the results for a region, organisations that work remotely anywhere in Ukraine are shown separately. You can use them wherever you live.
- To find specific help, expand “More filters” and tick the services you need, such as “Braille” or “Digital skills”, the type of organisation, or conditions: accommodation, home visits, no special requirements.
- Each organisation name links to its page with full contact details, a list of services and conditions.
Tips for screen reader users
- Pages are divided by headings: “Search and filters” and “… organisations found” are level 2 headings, regions are level 3 and organisation names are level 4. Move between organisations with the heading key (H or 4 in NVDA and JAWS).
- When you change the filters or type a search, the list updates straight away, the focus stays in the field and the screen reader announces how many organisations were found. To go to the list, press Enter or the “Show organisations” button: the focus moves to the heading with the number of organisations found.
- Phone numbers are links: on a smartphone you can tap them to call.
- Information about the organisations has been machine-translated, while names and contacts are in Ukrainian and marked as Ukrainian text, so your screen reader will read them with a Ukrainian voice if one is installed.
